The applicator is optional. Mighty Line floor tape can be installed manually, but an applicator may be helpful when marking long aisles, traffic lanes, work zones or larger facility layouts.

Before starting: Confirm that the applicator configuration and instruction manual match the width and type of Mighty Line tape being installed. Follow the documentation supplied with your specific applicator model.

How to Apply Mighty Line Floor Tape

This video demonstrates how the applicator can be aligned and moved along the planned floor marking path.

Before Using the Floor Tape Applicator

Proper preparation helps the floor tape make full contact with the installation surface and keeps the applicator aligned.

  • Measure the complete installation area before beginning.
  • Mark a straight reference line for the applicator to follow.
  • Confirm that the applicator matches the selected tape width.
  • Remove dirt, dust, oil, grease and loose material from the floor.
  • Allow the surface to dry completely before applying the tape.
  • Inspect the tape roll, applicator rollers and other components.
  • Review the manual supplied for the specific applicator model.
  • Test the setup on a short section before installing a long line.

How to Set Up the Mighty Line Tape Applicator

  1. Plan the Floor Marking Line

Determine where the aisle, lane, work zone or facility boundary will be placed. Measure the required length and create a visible reference guide before loading the tape.

  2. Prepare the Installation Surface

Clean the floor to remove contaminants that could interfere with adhesion. The surface should be completely dry before the tape is installed.

  3. Configure the Applicator for the Tape Width

Set the applicator spacers, guides or other adjustable components according to the width of the tape being installed. Confirm that the roll will remain centered during application.

  4. Load the Mighty Line Tape Roll

Place the tape roll onto the applicator in the correct feeding direction. Follow the model-specific instructions to secure the roll and guide the tape through the applicator.

  5. Thread the Backing Liner

Separate the release liner from the beginning of the tape and attach it to the appropriate take-up component. Remove excess slack and confirm that both the tape and liner move correctly.

  6. Position the Applicator

Move the applicator to the starting point and align it with the reference line. Press the exposed beginning of the tape firmly onto the prepared floor.

  7. Apply the Floor Tape

Push the applicator forward at a steady pace while following the guide. Watch the tape roll and backing liner to make sure they continue feeding evenly.

  8. Finish the Marking Line

Stop at the planned endpoint, cut the tape cleanly and press the final section firmly onto the floor.

  9. Inspect the Installation

Review the entire line for wrinkles, gaps, lifting edges or alignment issues. Apply firm pressure to any section that has not made complete contact with the floor.

Mighty Line Tape Applicator FAQs

Is an applicator required to install Mighty Line floor tape?

No. Mighty Line floor tape can be installed manually. The applicator is an optional tool that may help with long, straight lines and larger installation projects.

Does the floor need to be cleaned before using the applicator?

Yes. The applicator positions and presses the tape, but it does not replace proper surface preparation. Remove dirt, dust, oil, grease and moisture before installation.

How do I keep the floor tape straight?

Measure the layout first and establish a visible reference line. Align the applicator with that guide and maintain a steady direction while moving forward.

What should I do if the tape feeds unevenly?

Stop the applicator and inspect the tape roll, guides, spacers and release liner. Correct the alignment or tension before continuing.

Can one applicator be used for every tape width?

Applicator configurations and available widths vary. Confirm that the selected model and setup are compatible with the Mighty Line tape being installed.

Can the applicator be used without a reference line?

A reference line is strongly recommended for longer installations. The applicator follows the direction in which it is pushed, so an accurate guide helps prevent crooked floor markings.
